Yutong Showcases Innovative Battery Electric Intercity Bus IC12E at UITP Summit Hamburg 2025, Emphasizing Advancements in Electrification Technology
The Yutong IC12E, a new generation battery electric intercity bus, is making waves in the European transport industry. Designed specifically for European intercity operations, this innovative vehicle emphasises long range, strong performance, and quick charging efficiency.

The IC12E boasts a nominal electric drive power of 215 kW, with a peak power reaching 350 kW (optionally up to 250 kW nominal and 350 kW peak available). Its nominal torque is 1,260 Nm, with peak torque hitting 3,100 Nm, and these can be optionally increased to 1,680 Nm nominal and 3,800 Nm peak torque for enhanced power performance.

Under typical conditions, the bus can achieve an approximate 600 km range on a full charge (SORT2 cycle), with peak range reaching over 1,270 km under optimised driving scenarios.
During a practical range challenge test, the IC12E covered 510 km while the state of charge (SOC) dropped from 99% to 31%, with an indicated remaining range of 170 km.

The IC12E supports fast charging technology. In a charging efficiency test, the battery SOC rose from 13% to 99% in just 1 hour and 40 minutes using a single charging gun, enabling quick turnaround times crucial for intercity operations. This fast charging capability, combined with long-range and strong uphill grade ability (20% gradient demonstrated in Norway), makes the IC12E well-suited to demanding intercity and cross-border routes in Europe.
