Get ready for an epic adventure as Swords of Legends, a new single-player action RPG, is set to make its global debut in 2025. Developed by Aurogon Shanghai, the studio behind Swords of Legends Online, this game is rooted in Chinese mythology and folklore, particularly focusing on underworld and soul-guiding themes.

As the official sequel to the highly acclaimed Gujian series, which has been a staple in China for nearly two decades, Swords of Legends promises to deliver an immersive gaming experience. The game is built using Unreal Engine 5 and features cinematic storytelling, wide-linear exploration, and a flexible combat system.

Players will assume the role of Si Pan, an Underworld Enforcer who guides souls between life and death. Armed with mystical techniques, divine artifacts, and powerful weapons, they will face supernatural enemies. One of the game's unique aspects is the soul-capturing mechanic, allowing players to summon bound monsters for cooperative attacks.

Unlike its namesake MMO, Swords of Legends is a "wide linear" game, offering a different kind of exploration and combat experience. The game is designed with a global audience in mind, marking the first time a game in the Gujian series will be officially available worldwide outside China.

The release date for Swords of Legends is yet to be announced, but it's expected to launch globally for PC and consoles. For those interested in the game's technical specifications, some recommended hardware includes the AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, MSI MAG X870 Tomahawk WiFi, G.Skill Trident Z5 RGB 32 GB DDR5-7200, WD_Black SN7100, and AMD Radeon RX 9070.

Andy Chalk, a writer for PC Gamer who has been involved in the gaming industry since the 1980s, has been keeping an eye on the development of Swords of Legends. He has written about various aspects of the gaming industry, including new game announcements, patch notes, legal disputes, Twitch beefs, esports, and even Henry Cavill.

In Swords of Legends, players will take on the role of Si Pan, an "underworld enforcer" who returns to the world of the living. As they journey through this captivating world, they will encounter mythical creatures, engage in thrilling battles, and uncover the secrets of Chinese mythology.
