Volkswagen's 2026 'Electric Urban Car Family' to Revolutionize Entry-Level EVs
Volkswagen Group is set to revolutionise the entry-level electric vehicle segment in 2026 with the launch of the 'Electric Urban Car Family'. This offensive promises four affordable models, all priced under 25,000 euros.
The 'Electric Urban Car Family' will consist of the VW ID.Polo, ID.Cross, Skoda Epiq, and Cupra Raval. This is Volkswagen Group's first foray into providing electric cars in the compact segment at such an affordable price point, as previous models have been priced above 25,000 euros.
Adding to the excitement, the group is exploring an all-wheel drive option for the top models of this new family. While specific plans are not yet public, integrating technologies like hub motors could enhance performance and efficiency, enabling all-wheel drive capabilities with minimal suspension modifications. This feature will be available for the mini SUVs VW ID.Cross and Skoda Epiq, as well as the sporty GTI and R models.
The 'Electric Urban Car Family' is poised to make electric vehicles more accessible to a wider range of customers. The all-wheel drive option, while still in development, promises to further enhance the appeal of these upcoming models.
