Uzbekistan's Business Enters Fintech Elite, Marking First for Nation on Global Rankings
In a significant recognition of its rapid growth and commitment to digital financial services, TBC Uzbekistan, a digital banking ecosystem based in Central Asia, has been named one of the world's top fintech companies in the neobanking category by CNBC and Statista. This prestigious accolade marks the first time a business from Uzbekistan and the wider Central Asia region has received such recognition.
The World's Top Fintech Companies list is compiled annually based on key performance indicators (KPIs) and other financial metrics. These KPIs assess factors such as user growth, platform reliability, technical innovation, regulatory compliance, measurable market impact, and operational strength. Companies are categorised into one of eight sectors, including payments, neobanking, wealth technology, digital lending, regulatory technology, and financial infrastructure.
TBC Uzbekistan's inclusion in the list is a testament to its strong performance and market influence. The company's digital bank, TBC UZ, is the largest in the country, and its ecosystem, which includes Payme, Payme Nasiya, and TBC Insurance, serves Central Asia's most populous nation, reaching 19.7 million users.
Nika Kurdiani, CEO of TBC Uzbekistan, commented on the company's inclusion in the list, expressing gratitude for the international recognition of TBC Uzbekistan's rapid, profitable growth and commitment to innovation. TBC Uzbekistan continues to diversify its product offering, having launched and scaled a wide range of new products over the past year, including Salom Card, a flagship debit card and daily banking product, Osmon Credit Card, TBC Business banking and lending, and TBC Insurance.
In June 2025, TBC Uzbekistan announced the acquisition of a majority stake in BILLZ, the country's leading retail SaaS management platform, which is expected to enhance TBC Uzbekistan's reach into the strategically important SME segment.
Uzbekistan is one of the most exciting, high-growth markets for digital financial services globally, and TBC Uzbekistan is leading the way. As the company continues to innovate and expand its services, it is poised to make a significant impact on the global financial ecosystem.
