United Airlines has made significant strides in its partnership with Starlink. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has given the green light for Starlink's Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) amendment, allowing United's Boeing 737-800 fleet to be equipped with the innovative technology. The first commercial flight on a mainline United aircraft is set for 15 October.

United has already installed Starlink on more than half of its regional fleet aircraft, with customers praising the in-flight experience. The first mainline aircraft to receive the Starlink upgrade is a Boeing 737 MAX 9, with its maiden commercial flight scheduled for October 4, 2025. United plans to offer a wide range of entertainment options, including streaming services, shopping, and gaming, once Starlink is fully integrated across its fleet.

Starlink aims to secure FAA certification for every United aircraft type that receives the new equipment. This ambitious goal will enable United to provide a consistent, high-speed connectivity experience across its entire fleet.

United Airlines and Starlink continue to push boundaries in inflight connectivity. With the FAA's approval, United can now equip its mainline fleet with Starlink, promising enhanced entertainment and productivity options for passengers. The first mainline flight is expected later this month, with broader integration planned for the coming years.
