UK Space Agency Unveils 23 International Projects Worth £6.5m
The UK Space Agency has unveiled 23 international projects, set to bolster global partnerships and foster space innovation. These initiatives, backed by a £6.5m investment, involve collaborations with nine nations, creating jobs near me and keeping the UK at the forefront of space technology.
Among the funded projects are UK-India-5G-from-orbit, ARGUS, RANGER, and UK detector technology for NASA's high-resolution imaging. These projects aim to create jobs, strengthen partnerships with allies, and keep the UK at the cutting edge of space technology. The UK Space Agency is increasing bilateral research & development funding with international allies through the International Bilateral Fund (IBF).
The UK's space sector already employs over 55,000 people and generates £18.6bn in annual revenue. The projects involve innovations such as autonomous 3D printing, lunar agriculture, orbital threat detection, biotech manufacturing, medical research, and deep space radar. Some transformative projects focus on urban sustainability, including the Driving Urban Transitions (DUT) Call 2025 and the City-Transformation project in Karlsruhe.
