TypeTogether Unveils Futura®100: A Global Language Powerhouse

TypeTogether has unveiled Futura®100, a revamped version of Paul Renner's classic geometric sans-serif font, designed to support a vast array of global languages. Released on September 15, this new iteration aims to be a robust tool for international communication.

Futura®100 boasts an impressive global language support, covering 90% of the world's languages. It includes 12 scripts released in 2025, with the remaining 11 set for release in 2026. These scripts span various regions, from Latin and Pan African to Indic scripts like Khmer, Lao, Myanmar, and Thai. The font also supports languages from South Asia and surrounding regions, with plans to include 9 Indic scripts by 2026.

TypeTogether, founded in 2003 by José Scaglione and Veronika Burian, is known for its collaborative approach to typeface design. They work with local experts worldwide to ensure cultural respect and authenticity in their scripts. The foundry's mission is to create a diverse range of typefaces, as seen in Futura®100.

The redesign of Futura®100 involved expanding its weight possibilities and adding typographic refinements like small caps and intelligent fractions. These improvements enhance the font's functionality and style, making it a versatile tool for digital communication.

Futura®100 stands as a testament to TypeTogether's commitment to global inclusivity and cultural respect in type design. With its extensive language support and typographic enhancements, this new version of the iconic font is poised to become a staple in international graphic design.
