Get ready, Titan fans! After the long-awaited conclusion of the anime's Attack on Titan late last year, it seems we're not done just yet. Studio MAPPA is cooking up one more film for the series, and it's got a fitting title - Attack on Titan The Movie: The Last Attack. Brace yourselves for a 145-minute ride, encompassing the last two parts of the final season (episodes 29-35). As series director Yuichiro Hayashi shared with Crunchyroll, the on-screen visuals will receive an upgrade from their aired version. Hayashi, in his own words, always envisioned the finale as a single movie, and having the chance to see it come to life in theaters is a dream come true.
Compilation films aren't strange territory for Attack on Titan, as there's been at least one per season. On occasion, later films served as recaps for the seasons they were attached to. In this case, the last two parts of the final season were initially released as a pair of specials before they found their way onto individual episodes. However, it's amusing to see that Studio MAPPA hasn't completely detached from the Titan world just yet. Could this be the studio's final swan song before embarking on projects like Jujutsu Kaisen? We'll have to wait and see.
