Bitkom Headquarters Reopens After Renovation

After a year of construction, the renovated Bitkom headquarters in central Berlin has reopened its doors, offering a unique space for new work and communication. The architecture firm Something Fantastic, who also curated and designed the German pavilion at the 2016 Architecture Biennale in Venice, was responsible for the design and renovation of the building.

The Bitkom headquarters, located at Albrechtstraße 10 in Berlin-Mitte, were designed with the goal of creating an optimal spatial environment for new work. More than a thousand guests attended the office opening, including keynote speeches from Berlin's Governing Mayor Michael Müller, Helge Braun, the head of the Federal Chancellery, and Julian Schubert, the head of Something Fantastic who led the design process.

Achim Berg, the President of Bitkom, highlighted the importance of the renovated headquarters, stating that it was designed to facilitate creation and communication. The all-day conference program during the event focuses on Work 4.0 and New Work, with a panel discussion featuring Björn Böhning, State Secretary.

Bitkom, one of the first federal associations to establish its headquarters in Berlin in 2000, will be active in the future with three subsidiaries in the renovated headquarters. In addition to its headquarters in Berlin, Bitkom also maintains an office in Brussels. A total of 150 employees will be working in the renovated Bitkom headquarters in Berlin.

The renovation and expansion of the Bitkom headquarters cost 2.3 million euros and was carried out by the architecture group apn concepts & projects. The newly renovated headquarters are a testament to Bitkom's commitment to innovation and progress, and will serve as a hub for the digital economy in Berlin for years to come.
