Streamlineregistration of economic entities via digital medium

The Ministry of Internal Trade and the Central Commercial Registry (CCR) are making strides to simplify business operations in the country by introducing a new digital platform for online registration. This move aims to incorporate around 500 self-employed workers during the month of August and reduce the number of expired state entity procedures.

The new platform is mandatory for all natural and legal persons engaged in commercial activities, as per Decree 184. Economic actors, both public and private, can now register online, making the process more accessible and efficient.

To register, economic actors must provide necessary identification, such as a social security number, tax ID, or business number, and submit completed forms via the government portal. Registration with the CCR is a requirement for all commercial activities in the country, and failure to comply may result in economic sanctions, closure of establishments, or revocation of commercial activity permits.

Economic actors must also link QR codes to their fiscal account for registration. Enabling their fiscal account is essential to formalize their registration. A fee of 510 pesos is required for each economic activity, meaning that those engaged in multiple activities must make a separate payment for each.

The CCR's temporary permits for sales activities are subject to location specifications to avoid infractions. These permits, valid for up to three months, are in addition to the regular commercial licenses offered by the CCR. Selling in an unauthorized location constitutes an infraction.

While QR code linking and temporary permits are not commonly referenced requirements in the provided context, their usage and specifics may vary depending on the country. For more precise details about a specific country’s Central Commercial Registry, feel free to ask!

This new digital platform is a significant step towards facilitating the legal operation of businesses in the country and promoting a more streamlined business environment. The CCR's efforts are expected to contribute positively to the country's economy and encourage entrepreneurship.
