Seven Startups Kick Off Grindstone | E Squared Programme

Seven high-potential startups have been selected to take part in the Grindstone | E Squared Programme, a venture building initiative designed to equip founders with the tools they need to scale smart. The programme, launched in early July 2023, brings together Grindstone, a company known for assisting high-growth, innovation-driven companies, and E Squared, a partner dedicated to backing purpose-driven entrepreneurs ready to go the distance.

The startups hail from various industries, including software, ed-tech, e-health, food distribution, and more. Among the cohort are Docotela Health, a premium, affordable telehealth platform, Fleetfund, a startup that connects investors to high-growth logistics opportunities, and SUTA National Logistics, a tech-powered, stress-free delivery service. Other participants include African Saga, Muna Studios, Glo's Cookies, and Genius UP.

Upon joining the programme, the startups gain access to the Grindstone Academy, a digital platform for high-impact learning. The academy includes deep-dive baseline assessments to identify gaps and define a growth benchmark. The cohort is also undergoing a series of curated workshops and interventions designed to unlock measurable growth.

In addition to learning opportunities, the startups receive personalised coaching, brand and marketing support, and investor-ready data room development. Grindstone and E Squared aim to help unlock market access, refine strategy, and facilitate warm introductions to aligned clients, partners, and investors.

The programme kicked off with a dynamic in-person networking session at the JoziGin Bar. Catherine Young, managing partner at Grindstone, expressed her excitement about the cohort, stating that the venture building programme equips high-potential founders with real-world tools, honest feedback, and access to the right people to help them scale smart.

Grindstone, co-owned by Knife Capital and Thinkroom Limited, has been assisting high-growth companies to scale their businesses since its founding in 2013. The Grindstone | E Squared Programme is a founder-focused, growth engineering journey, built to accelerate the success of high potential Allan Gray Fellows and Pathways Investees.
