Standalone Version of Free Particle Illusion Introduces Natural Liquid Flow Motion

The latest version of Boris FX Particle Illusion standalone application has been released, bringing several key updates aimed at improving usability and expanding creative possibilities for users.

The updated interface features sleeker layouts for easier navigation, improved tool organization, and enhanced visual clarity. Additionally, new 3D camera controls and widgets have been added, providing greater precision and flexibility in manipulating particle systems within a 3D space.

Contextual tooltips have been incorporated to help users understand controls and settings more quickly, while additional functionality within the application expands creativity and control over particle behaviours and effects.

Particle Illusion now integrates with AI tools found in Boris FX Continuum, such as noise reduction, upscaling, and pro film textures. This integration allows for a seamless full visual effects workflow.

In a move to make Particle Illusion more accessible, the standalone app is now available as a free download. This opens up the 3D particle animation capabilities to a wider audience of motion graphics and VFX artists.

The update introduces a new feature called Fluid Dynamics, which adds photorealistic organic movement to particle animations. Users can choose from three purchasing options for the plugin version: an annual subscription, a monthly subscription, or a permanent license.

The Particle Illusion standalone application supports native M1 on Apple M1-supported Macs, resulting in significant performance speed increases. Users can save complex animations as a single preset called a "Scene" within the Emitter Library.

The Emitter Library includes a variety of photorealistic effects such as fire, smoke, dust, snow, fireworks, and abstract organic elements. The Continuum Particles Unit can be purchased as a permanent license or upgraded from a previous version.

For those seeking guidance on how to use Particle Illusion, a tutorial series consisting of 25 bite-size videos is available. The series, created by Ben Brownlee and Boris FX director of motion graphics, John Dickinson, covers installation, preset usage, and an introduction to the Fluid Dynamics feature.

These updates aim to make Particle Illusion more powerful and accessible for generating realistic and complex particle animations, offering a user-friendly environment for motion graphics and VFX artists.

Technology advancements are reflected in the updated Particle Illusion, featuring a user-friendly interface and integrated AI tools. Enhanced features like Fluid Dynamics allow for photorealistic organic movement in particle animations, catering to motion graphics and VFX artists with varying preferences for purchasing options.
