Sochi's Public Transport Gets 26 New Electric Trains on October 1
Starting October 1, Sochi will see a significant boost in its public transportation with the launch of 26 additional electric transportation vehicles. This move, a collaborative effort involving regional authorities, the Ministry of Transport, the carrier, and JSC 'RZD', aims to ease congestion on Greater Sochi's transportation infrastructure.
The new transportation routes will serve key areas, connecting Matsesta, Khosta, Adler, the Scientific Park, and Imeretinsky Resort. This expansion is set to tackle traffic congestion and redistribute passenger transportation on overloaded sections. The initiative is part of a broader strategy to modernize the region's transportation infrastructure, with developing suburban rail services being a key priority.
Eugene Pergun, who took office as Vice Governor of Krasnodar Krai on April 14, 2023, has been instrumental in driving this transportation project forward.
The launch of these additional electric transportation vehicles is a significant step towards improving Sochi's public transportation system. With new routes and increased frequency, the initiative aims to enhance connectivity, reduce congestion, and provide a more efficient commuting experience for residents and visitors alike.
