Shotoku to Showcase Innovative Robotic Control Advancements at IBC 2025
At this year's IBC2025, Shotoku Broadcast Systems is showcasing a range of enhanced features for its robotic camera control systems, designed to meet the demands of modern live production environments.
The star of the show is the updated AutoFrame presenter tracking system, now offering increased precision and flexibility with Framing Presets. This new feature streamlines day-to-day workflows by allowing operators to recall a perfectly composed shot at the press of a single button, enhancing efficiency during live broadcasts.
The integrated robotic control systems, including the SmartPed robotic pedestal, SoftRail camera control system, and TR-XT control system, have been upgraded to provide more reliable, fluid, and responsive motion control. These improvements deliver smoother camera and presenter tracking performance, while maintaining user-friendly control interfaces.
The TR-XT control system, equipped with the StudioView interface, offers direct access to key features like AutoFrame. This interface provides operators with a live map of the studio, complete with safety zones and the live status of all robotics.
One of the standout enhancements is the SoftRail system, which has been upgraded with Branch Lines. This new feature offers operators unprecedented flexibility, allowing them to switch instantly between guided rail operation and unrestricted X/Y movement. This means that the benefits of a rail system can be enjoyed, with the added ability to switch to full X/Y roaming on-demand.
At the event, visitors can see the SmartPed working seamlessly with SoftRail, delivering smooth, predictable movement of a rail system when a fixed path is needed, while retaining the freedom to roam anywhere in the studio on-demand.
Shotoku's managing director, James Eddershaw, stated that their customers are at the heart of their product development, with new features starting from feedback and driving the development of future products.
The company's full lineup of pan and tilt heads, including the TG-27, TG-47, TG-18i, TI-12, TI-11 height drives, and control systems for broadcast, legislative, and pro AV applications will also be on display.
Visitors to IBC2025 can find Shotoku Broadcast Systems at Stand 12.F47. The company invites everyone to come and experience the enhanced capabilities of their robotic camera control systems in person. More information about Shotoku Broadcast Systems can be found on their website.
