Steaming Ahead with Champions Tactics: Reforged

Ubisoft is expanding the fanbase of its strategy game, Champions Tactics: Reforged, by launching it on Steam, with Season 3 now live. Although the official date for the Steam release is yet to be announced, fans can already add it to their wishlist on the platform.

The transition to Steam targets increasing accessibility and growing the player base. The Steam version offers online multiplayer, achievements, in-app purchases, and Ubisoft Connect integration. It caters to 12 languages, including English, French, Spanish, and Simplified Chinese. To run the game, players will require a minimum of 8GB RAM and a GTX 960, with a GTX 1660 or better recommended for a smoother gaming experience.

Season 3: Strategic Shifts and New Narrative

Ubisoft has introduced updates in Season 3 to refine the combat approach. The game's turn-based format remains unchanged, with teams of three Champions clashing in tactical scenarios. The updates focus on ability balance, pace, and squad customization, adding more strategic depth to the gameplay.

In Season 3, players will also discover a new chapter in the Grimoria universe, expanding the game's lore without altering the existing rules. According to Ubisoft, these changes are based on player feedback and performance tuning.

The Battlefield of Ranked Play

Competitive play remains the heart of the game. Season 3 retains the same structure, with progress based on match results. Ubisoft has hinted at new seasonal rewards as part of the update, though specifics are yet to be disclosed. The studio plans to continue supporting Champions Tactics as a competitive multiplayer experience.

Web3 Features: Awaiting Clarification

Previous versions of Champions Tactics featured blockchain-based content like NFT Champions. However, the Steam listing does not reference any Web3 features. Ubisoft is yet to comment on whether these blockchain elements will reappear. Future announcements or official updates from Ubisoft may provide more insights on this.

Ubisoft confirmed that the Spanish language will be amongst the 12 languages supported in the Steam version of Champions Tactics: Reforged. To ensure optimal performance, players need a minimum of 8GB RAM and a GTX 960, with a GTX 1660 or better recommended. Despite the absence of Web3 features in the Steam listing, Ubisoft has yet to clarify whether NFT Champions will be reintroduced in future updates.

Ubisoft increases Champions Tactics: Reforged's player reach, as the game now appears on Steam, debuting with Season 3 in progress.
