Schweinfurt Customs Office Opens Doors on July 26
The Main Customs Office Schweinfurt, led by Marianne Kothé, is set to host an open day on Saturday, July 26, 2025. This event aims to provide students and interested citizens with a comprehensive look into the diverse tasks of the customs administration. The open day will run from 10:00 to 15:00 at the Schweinfurt customs office.
The Main Customs Office Schweinfurt, covering the districts of Lower and Upper Franconia, employs over 700 staff members. In 2024, the office collected around €1.7 billion for the federal budget and secured almost 400,000 smuggled cigarettes. Their efforts also led to significant penalties: fines totalling nearly €2.1 million and over 51 years of imprisonment due to investigations.
The office's work contributes to the stability of social systems, ensuring security and economic justice. In 2024, the Financial Control Schwarzarbeit (FKS) of the Schweinfurt customs office uncovered over €14 million in damages from black work and illegal employment. The open day will showcase various themes, customs dogs, and control situation demonstrations.
The open day at the Main Customs Office Schweinfurt offers an opportunity to learn about the critical role customs play in our society. With their work, they contribute to the federal budget, combat smuggling, and enforce economic justice. The event is a chance to appreciate the dedication of the over 700 staff members who ensure the smooth operation of our social systems.
