SAP undergoes a highly aggressive restructuring in nearly 5 years - invest, invest, invest!

In the realm of technology investments, SAP (WKN: 716460) continues to hold its ground as a core investment among German technology stocks, with analysts maintaining a buy recommendation for SAP stocks.

Meanwhile, the software sector is experiencing a sell-off, with notable companies like Adobe, Salesforce, Intuit, and Workday feeling the brunt. This trend seems to have started at the beginning of the week and has extended to the European market, with Tuesday seeing a significant downturn for these companies.

One company that has been making waves in the industry is Adobe, with the release of its AI-powered platform, Firefly. Firefly, integrated across Adobe’s Creative Cloud suite, is revolutionising creative workflows through features like AI-powered image generation, generative fill, and video editing.

Adobe Firefly supports creating images, video, and audio from text prompts, and offers advanced editing features in Photoshop such as Generative Fill, Generative Expand, and Harmonize for blending new objects realistically into images. These features enhance content creation efficiency, image upscaling, object removal, and colour and lighting harmonization using Firefly models.

Competitors like Canva and Figma are also advancing in AI-driven design, but Adobe’s Firefly leverages deep integration, commercial safety, and advanced AI models, positioning it strongly in the professional creative market.

Key differentiators for Adobe Firefly versus competitors include professional-grade AI image generation with commercial safety, deep integration into Adobe’s industry-standard software, advanced capabilities like Harmonize for more natural object insertion and blending, and multi-modal generation including text-to-video and image-to-video tools.

While Adobe Firefly is making strides, concerns about the potential impacts of AI on software companies have been raised. A report from financial portal MarketWatch, titled "AI is Eating Software - And Adobe is on the Menu", has caused investor concerns. Analyst Ben Reitzes of Melius Research perceives Adobe’s AI solution, Firefly, as "difficult to monetize".

Reitzes has downgraded Adobe’s stock from "Hold" to "Sell" due to this perceived difficulty in monetizing Firefly and the availability of AI-first alternatives. He also believes Adobe’s strategy to increase revenue through price increases or new subscription tiers is a de facto price increase, which could accelerate the migration to AI-first competitors.

Despite these concerns, analysts see an upside potential of around 25 percent for SAP stocks, with 26 out of 34 analysts currently recommending buying SAP stocks. The average consensus target price of SAP stocks is 291 euros.

Despite a six percent drop on Tuesday, SAP's stock remains a core investment among German technology stocks. Every significant drop in SAP's stock price has proven to be an attractive buying opportunity in the long run.

In the midst of this market turbulence, DER AKTIONÄR DAILY, Germany's leading stock market magazine's free daily newsletter, continues to provide updates on exciting companies and the stock market. In issue 20/25, DER AKTIONÄR recommended buying SAP stocks.

As the software sector navigates this AI-driven transformation, it is clear that Adobe Firefly is leading the way in advanced generative AI integrated into a comprehensive design ecosystem. Competitors like Canva and Figma focus on user-friendly AI features and collaboration but face strong competition from Adobe’s innovation and enterprise presence. This dynamic will foster rapid innovation and a more AI-enabled creative future.
