Samsung's Exynos 2500 Boasts Powerful NPU, 3nm GAA Process for Future Devices
Samsung has recently unveiled the Exynos 2500, its latest system-on-a-chip (SoC) showcasing remarkable enhancements in processing power and efficiency.
The Exynos 2500's Neural Processing Unit (NPU) is a standout feature, delivering up to 59 trillion operations per second. This results in a 39% boost in on-device AI performance. The SoC's CPU is configured as a 1+(2+5)+2 setup, including a high-performance Cortex-X5 core clocked at 3.3GHz.
Manufactured using a 3nm Gate-All-Around (GAA) process node, the Exynos 2500 marks a shift from Samsung's previous strategies. It incorporates the Samsung Xclipse 950 GPU, providing hardware-accelerated ray tracing capabilities. The integrated Image Signal Processor (ISP) supports camera sensors up to 320 megapixels and 8K video recording at 30fps.
Rumors hint that the Exynos 2500 will power the upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 7 across all global markets, including the United States. The SoC supports LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage technologies, along with an integrated modem that supports mmWave 5G and peak download speeds of up to 12.1 Gbps.
The Exynos 2500, with its potent NPU, efficient CPU, and advanced GPU and ISP, promises to bolster the performance of Samsung's future devices. Its global rollout in the Galaxy Z Flip 7, if accurate, will bring these advancements to users worldwide.
