Russian Tech Entrepreneurs Inspire Peers, Traditional Media Top Source of Info
A recent study involving 92,500 internet users has shed light on the tech entrepreneur landscape in Russia. The findings reveal a strong domestic influence, with Russian entrepreneurs inspiring their peers twice as often as foreign counterparts.
Fifteen percent of respondents are actively engaged in technological entrepreneurship, with one in five having an entrepreneur they admire. The influence of successful tech entrepreneurs is mainly inspiring (39%), helping to persevere in tough times (33%), and learning from others' mistakes (23%).
When it comes to setting financial targets, most internet users (60%) do not have specific goals. Among those who do, the most common targets are 1 million (19%) and 500,000 (12%).
Traditional media remains the primary source (38%) for learning about successful entrepreneurs, followed by social media and Telegram channels (21%).
Tech entrepreneurship attracts individuals with the opportunity to create new products and services (26%), and the desire for freedom and independence (25%). Youth values strategic thinking (16%) and taking responsibility (13%) the most in their entrepreneurial role models.
The Moscow Startup Summit, organized by the Moscow government and Sber, will take place on October 1-2 at the SberCity smart city. The event aims to bring together innovators, investors, and representatives from various sectors.
The study highlights the significant influence of Russian tech entrepreneurs on their peers, with traditional media being the primary source of information about successful entrepreneurs. The Moscow Startup Summit promises to be an exciting event, fostering innovation and collaboration among tech enthusiasts.
