Russia Doubles UAS Graduates to Meet High Demand for Aviation Safety Specialists
The Russian government is investing heavily in unmanned aerial systems (UAS), creating new professions and a high demand for aviation safety specialists. An additional 1 billion rubles has been allocated to double the number of graduates and train around six thousand personnel this year.
The new roles include head of the flight department, aviation safety specialist, and drone traffic dispatcher. These specialists will manage drones in various sectors such as agriculture, logistics, construction, and energy. They will also be responsible for distinguishing legal drones from illegal ones, utilizing technologies like artificial intelligence.
Data analysts who interpret drone-collected data are also in high demand. The training of UAS personnel is linked to the development of technologies ensuring airspace safety. The government aims to provide advanced education to workers with relevant secondary or higher education.
