Royal Security Tightens as Kate and William Prepare to Move to Windsor's Forest Lodge
In preparation for the arrival of the Prince and Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton and Prince William, at Forest Lodge in Windsor Great Park, significant security measures are being implemented. The couple, along with their three children, are expected to move into their 'forever home' before the end of 2025.
The Home Office has ordered the closure of a parking lot and access gate near Forest Lodge, effectively barring public entry to the surrounding land. This move comes under the provisions of the Serious Organized Crime and Police Act, which allows for heightened protection of Crown properties. Security cameras, fencing, and new tree cover are being installed to enhance privacy and security.
The area previously open to local residents for an annual fee of £110 ($150) is now off-limits, with a restricted zone established. Police have the authority to arrest trespassers within the designated area. These changes follow the family's intended move away from Adelaide Cottage.
The decision to increase security measures around Forest Lodge was made by the authorities responsible for the royal family's protection. The implementation of cameras, high fences, and restricted access aims to safeguard the property and its future residents, Kate Middleton, Prince William, and their children.
