Roku to Premiere Reduced Quibi Content, Originally considered Low-Value, Starting from May 20
Ready for Some New Binge-Worthy Content? Roku Originals Are Here and They're Fire
Listen up, folks! The Roku Channel has just gotten a major upgrade. Roku recently announced that it's officially renaming its Quibi content library as Roku Originals, and you better believe it's about to get lit! These series are set to drop next week.
Roku declared that its smartly rebranded "originals" will debut on May 20th in the U.S., U.K., and Canada. This year alone, over 75 titles and a dozen previously unseen series will be premiering on the Roku Channel as free, ad-supported content. The diverse mix of content includes comedy, drama, documentaries, and unscripted series. As a matter of fact, some of these shows were pretty dang good, if you recall, it's been approximately 400 years since Quibi graced our screens.
Quibi went all out when it came to securing top talent for its originals. The cast of characters includes Kevin Hart, Anna Kendrick, Liam Hemsworth, Chance the Rapper, and Jennifer Lopez, just to name a few of the bigwigs they snagged. Want a sneak peek of the shows coming your way? Check out this list or the trailer above for a quick preview.
As for me, I'm positively excited to tune in again for Murder House Flip, a show that's downright entertaining and just a little bit insane. I can hardly wait to watch it on a real TV rather than my phone (although it did eventually start supporting larger screens, but let's be real, it was a bit too late). I suppose I won't miss that Turnstyle feature, though.
