Revised Rode Wireless Micro Software Updates Available
Sydney, Australia, May 22, 2025 – Electronic audio equipment manufacturer Røde has rolled out a significant firmware update for its Wireless Micro line, catering to content creators. The latest software iteration introduces several enhancements that include receiverless connectivity to iOS devices via Bluetooth, improved noise reduction, and new recording options.
The update's highlight is the addition of Direct Connect, a feature within the Røde Capture app that allows users to pair Wireless Micro transmitters directly to iOS devices. With this feature, users can bypass the need for a physical receiver, streamlining setup and fostering wireless freedom.
The update also introduces a new noise reduction feature that minimizes background noise. Users can control the level of noise reduction for each transmitter independently, offering precise control over sound quality.
Additional features include the options for merged and split recording modes and a gain adjustment control within the app. In merged mode, audio from both transmitters combines into a single stereo track, while split mode records each transmitter on separate channels for increased post-production flexibility. The new output gain control allows users to fine-tune recording levels.
The Røde Wireless Micro is still available in black or white, with USB-C and Lightning configurations. Priced at $149 USD, the device boasts a pocket-sized charging case offering up to 21 hours of battery life. Direct Connect is accessible through the Røde Capture app with the free firmware update.
