Modern Road Markings Improve Safety on Kazakh Highways

Kazakhstan has taken an important step towards modernizing its road infrastructure with the application of advanced technologies on its highways. This initiative aims to enhance safety on the roads, particularly on heavily trafficked roads and high-speed sections of the highway.

The new road markings, featuring modern retroreflective elements known as ADK-5, ensure consistent visibility under harsh conditions, including low light and poor weather. These elements improve the visibility of road markings and signs, especially at night, helping drivers navigate the road more quickly and reducing the risk of accidents.

The ADK-5 retroreflective elements are crucial for traffic signs, lane markings, and edge lines. They help drivers recognize lane boundaries, signs, and hazards more quickly, thereby reducing the risk of run-off-road or head-on collisions. These materials align with systemic safety countermeasures that proactively address crash risks before accidents occur.

In addition to the ADK-5 elements, a durable two-component paint known as AK-517 'Sprint DUO' has been used for the new road markings. This paint provides a long-lasting coating for road markings, withstanding heavy vehicle loads, abrasion, and various weather conditions. This results in markings that maintain their visibility and functional integrity over longer periods, reducing the need for frequent reapplication and minimizing road work disruptions.

The AK-517 Sprint DUO paint has excellent adhesion to asphalt and is applied on highways for high-performance lane markings, symbols, and crosswalks. This paint can also be combined with retroreflective elements to further enhance nighttime visibility.

Recently, a 700-meter stretch of the Astana - Karaganda (with bypass) - Almaty highway has been fitted with these modern road markings. The new road marking, applied between 1358 and 1360 km, uses a two-component paint with a hardener AK-517 "Sprint DUO". This new road marking, combined with the ADK-5 retroreflective elements, improves the visibility of road markings in low light and poor weather conditions, making the highway safer for drivers.

In conclusion, the application of these advanced technologies on Kazakh highways enhances safety on the roads by increasing conspicuity, reducing crash risks, and ensuring durable maintenance of road markings even under challenging traffic and environmental conditions.

Today's advancements in technology have played a significant role in the finance industry, as funds are being diverted towards the transportation sector to improve highway safety, like the recent application of ADK-5 retroreflective elements and AK-517 'Sprint DUO' paint on Kazakh highways. These technologies work together to increase the visibility of road markings and signs, aiding in the advancement of the entire industry.
