Question: Quantity of Your Playlists Inquiry Via Survey

In a recent survey conducted on 1,156 individuals aged 16 and above in Germany, including 748 users of audio streaming services, some fascinating insights into music streaming habits were uncovered.

The most widely used music streaming service, particularly among the younger generations, is Spotify. Known for its strong playlist features and user engagement, Spotify is the go-to platform for individuals aged 16 and above for creating and utilizing personalized playlists. However, there is no specific data available on the average number of playlists created per user.

When it comes to sharing playlists, almost one in ten (9%) respondents make their playlists public, either via their own profile on a streaming service. The survey did not provide data on the percentage of users who share their playlists based on their reliance on personalized recommendations.

The majority of users (55%) do not find the personalized recommendations from their streaming services to perfectly match their musical taste. Conversely, a significant number of users (43%) rely on these recommendations for new music, with 43% frequently discovering new music through these suggestions. The survey, however, did not provide data on the average number of playlists created by users who frequently discover new music through streaming service suggestions.

Interestingly, 74% of music streaming service users aged 16 and above create their own playlists, with an average of six playlists each. On the other end of the spectrum, 21% of respondents have only one to two playlists, while a notable 19% organize their favorite music in ten or more playlists.

Almost half of the respondents (46%) share their playlists with family, friends, or acquaintances. However, the survey did not provide data on the percentage of users who share their playlists based on their reliance on personalized recommendations.

In conclusion, while Spotify remains the dominant music streaming service for personalized playlist creation, there is room for improvement in the personalized recommendations provided by these services. Moreover, the sharing of playlists among users is a common practice, with a significant number of individuals organizing their music into multiple playlists.
