Qualys Expands Patch Management to Natively Support Linux and Third-Party Apps

Qualys Patch Management has recently expanded its services to natively support Linux operating systems and third-party application patching, alongside its existing Windows support. This development is currently in beta and has not been officially announced in Germany or internationally.

The new Linux patching capabilities allow organizations to efficiently remediate vulnerabilities and patch both Windows and Linux systems. Key features include on-demand or scheduled patch selection and deployment, automatic system reboot when required, and review of patch deployment status.

The expansion covers patching of the operating system and third-party applications on Linux devices. Qualys offers a single integrated solution for automatic detection, prioritization, and remediation of vulnerabilities on both Microsoft and Linux devices using the Qualys Cloud Agent. This one platform, one agent strategy makes efficient use of resources and provides a unified view of vulnerability and patching status.

A webinar titled 'Up the Patch Game: Unified Patch Management for Windows and Linux' is set for May 5, 2021, at 10am Pacific, to discuss these new features. Qualys Patch Management enables efficient 'mass' patching workflows for both Windows and Linux platforms, as well as patch workflows for complex multi-tiered systems.

With the addition of Linux support, Qualys Patch Management now offers unified patch management for both Windows and Linux-based devices. This expansion allows organizations to efficiently handle vulnerabilities and patches across their entire system, regardless of operating system.
