Proposal for a Worker Radiation Safety Directive has been Tasked to Commission
Düsseldorf Airport has announced that it will be opening the terrace of its 'Station Airport' event location for the last three weekends of the summer vacation period, offering a one-of-a-kind opportunity to watch aircraft take off and land while enjoying the lively apron activities.
From August 9 to 24, visitors can secure free tickets for the terrace via the airport's official booking portal, event.dus.com/terrasse, where a total of 9,200 free tickets are available. The terrace event runs on these specific dates, with details announced closer to the event. Due to high demand, securing tickets early is strongly recommended.
The terrace provides great opportunities for families, plane spotters, and aviation enthusiasts to experience the airport from a unique vantage point. Visitors can watch aircraft movements and enjoy the bustling atmosphere of the airport apron. Further details about additional activities and program highlights will be provided ahead of the events, so keeping an eye on Düsseldorf Airport’s official announcements is advisable.
Lars Redeligx, CEO of Düsseldorf Airport GmbH, stated, "I would like to thank our airport fans for their patience and create an opportunity to observe takeoffs and landings from close by with the opening of the terrace of the event location 'Station Airport'."
The reopening of the terrace is a part of a sustainable concept to permanently reopen the observation deck on pier B. The observation deck has been costly and resource-intensive to operate due to security regulations. Visitors are invited to donate the saved entrance fee to the Düsseldorf Citizens' Foundation and its initiative "Düsseldorf sets a sign" at their own discretion.
A strict bag check will take place at the entrance. No large luggage, sharp objects, or other dangerous items are allowed. The terrace will be completely cleared between slots. Food and drinks in plastic bottles are allowed, and there is also a snack machine on-site. A tip: Spin the wheel of fortune to win vouchers for airport restaurants and shops.
The event location at Düsseldorf Airport station is temporarily unavailable due to August weekend closures. However, the terrace will be open on August 9, 10, 16, 17, 23, and 24. There is an additional slot on Sunday, August 10, for 200 people from 5:45 to 9:30. A total of 500 people can check in from 10:00 to 12:00, 12:15 to 14:15, and 14:30 to 16:30 each day.
The "Station Airport" event is part of a larger exhibition called "AirWalk," which showcases the future of Düsseldorf Airport, including information about the Master Plan 2045, the new fire station, and the planned early warning system for thunderstorms. For more information on donation options, please visit the booking portal or check on-site during your visit.
