PlayStation 5 Digital Edition featuring 825GB SSD listed on Amazon at the original price, with the CFI-2116 revision believed to be the cause of the reduced storage capacity overseas.
The revised PlayStation 5 Digital Edition, known as "Chassis E" and CFI-2116, has made its way to various European Amazon sites for purchase. This revision marks the return of the 825GB SSD, a departure from the 1TB storage that was introduced with the shift to the PlayStation 5 Slim.
Sony has confirmed the revision, although an official announcement has yet to be made. The revised Digital Edition is priced at €499 in Europe, aligning with the existing PlayStation 5 Digital Edition's MSRP.
Interestingly, this revision represents a decrease in storage capacity compared to the original and the PlayStation 5 Slim. Consumers are losing close to 200GB, or 24%, of usable, high-speed storage with the latest revision. This translates to a 17.5% reduction in capacity compared to the original PlayStation 5 Digital Edition, which was equipped with 825GB of internal storage.
