Payroll Specialist in Charge of Implementation
Oyster, a global employment platform, is seeking a skilled Payroll Implementation Specialist to join their dynamic team. This role is fully remote and requires the specialist to be based in the +1/+2 UTC time zone.
Background and Experience
The ideal candidate will possess expertise in payroll migrations and familiarity with various payroll systems. They should have experience working closely with country-specific Payroll Specialists to tailor payroll configurations to customer requirements. A strong understanding of managing global payroll operations aligned with local tax and legal regulations is essential.
Key Responsibilities
As the primary contact for customers during the payroll implementation process, the Payroll Implementation Specialist will act as a liaison, collaborating with stakeholders and clients to facilitate the rollout of new customer payrolls across multiple countries. They will support project coordination by creating, updating, and tracking detailed project plans.
The specialist will collect and document specific payroll requirements to support migrations and implementations. They will participate in internal and external client calls to communicate project progress and resolve queries. Ensuring timely and compliant payroll setup to guarantee accurate employee payments worldwide is a critical aspect of this role.
Skills and Requirements
The role requires strong organizational skills with attention to structure and deadlines. A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail in data handling is necessary. The candidate must have experience handling multiple smaller projects at once and possess proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets, with the ability to use formulas and organize data.
Project management experience is necessary, and the candidate should have a minimum of 3 years of payroll processing experience with a good understanding of payroll principles, basic tax mechanics, and benefits administration. Familiarity with BI tools such as Looker and Alteryx is beneficial for the role.
