Patagonia's New Capilene 4 Pro Zip-Neck Baselayer Keeps Winter Athletes Warm and Fresh
Patagonia has introduced the Capilene 4 Pro Zip-Neck baselayer, designed for winter sports enthusiasts seeking warmth and comfort. Released in 2019, this hybrid technical baselayer combines breathability and moisture management with Polygiene odor control for multi-day trips.
The Capilene 4 Pro Zip-Neck features an extra high collar to keep the neck and chin warm, along with thumb loops in the cuffs to prevent cold air from entering. A deep-cut zipper allows for ventilation when needed.
The baselayer is a hybrid of Capilene 4 fabric, offering breathability and moisture management around the core, sides, and forearms, and R1 fleece for added warmth on the chest and shoulders. It has a slim fit and is long enough to tuck in, with the recommendation to choose a normal size or go a size smaller for primary use as a next-to-skin layer.
The design includes panels in two shades of blue and a yellow zipper, with a brushed-fleece interior in blue. The baselayer is treated with Polygiene odor control, making it suitable for extended backcountry trips without frequent washing.
The Patagonia Capilene 4 Pro Zip-Neck is priced at $119 and available at Backcountry and REI. It is designed for various winter sports, including resort skiing, snowboarding, and backcountry adventures, ensuring warmth, comfort, and durability for outdoor enthusiasts.
