Partnership with IATA broadens Chooose's emissions data options
In a significant move towards transparency and sustainability in the aviation industry, software company Chooose has signed an agreement with the International Air Transport Association (IATA) to integrate IATA CO2 Connect emissions data into its platform.
IATA CO2 Connect, the only carbon calculator for travel emissions based on airline operational data, provides flight-specific emissions estimates. It utilises data from more than 70 airlines, further enhancing its position as a standard for measuring CO2 emissions in both passenger and cargo transport. The data complies with IATA RP 1726 and ISO 14083, adding credibility to its status.
The collaboration between Chooose and IATA will enable more than 30 global airline partners of Chooose to include IATA CO2 Connect emissions data in their emissions calculations. This includes airlines such as Aerolineas Argentinas, Air Baltic, LATAM Airlines Group, Luxair, and Nile Air, as per agreements signed during the World Sustainability Symposium in October 2023 in Madrid, Spain.
By incorporating CO2 Connect data, Chooose assists airlines and their corporate partners in addressing the growing demand for transparency in emissions reporting. Research conducted by IATA in April 2025 indicated that 40% of travellers, particularly those in business, routinely monitor their flight-related carbon emissions.
The integration allows airlines using the Chooose platform to deliver IATA CO2 Connect's emissions data directly to their corporate and consumer customers. This partnership aims to provide airlines with improved access to emissions data, enabling them to manage their sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) programmes more effectively.
IATA wants IATA CO2 Connect data to be as widely available as possible for those managing travel. The data can factor in reductions associated with sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), making it a valuable tool for airlines committed to reducing their carbon footprint.
Chooose CEO Joseph Beaudin states that the addition of IATA CO2 Connect gives their partners access to an IATA dataset that continuously improves as more airlines report operational inputs and SAF usage. This collaboration is a testament to Chooose's commitment to promoting sustainability and transparency in the aviation industry.
In addition to this partnership, Chooose has also been recognised for its achievements in the aviation industry. The company entered the Airport Technology Excellence Awards, which celebrate innovation, leadership, and impact in the aviation industry. By integrating IATA CO2 Connect, Chooose continues to elevate its industry profile and position itself among top leaders driving aviation industry advancements.
