Joyful Performances Mark Bamberg Symphony's Jubilee Year - Orchestra in Bamberg Intends to Provide Joyful Performances for Jubilee Season
With roots steeped in Vienna's Musikverein, but ready to smash the scene at a Poetry Slam, or crank out music for your gaming glory - the Bamberger Symphoniker are ambushing the 2025/26 season with their riveting program!
The BamBoys were born in '46, and their upcoming season centers around the exuberant theme of "Gleeful Gigging". As Intendant Marcus Rudolf says, "When you hear our orchestra, you catch the contagious enthusiasm in each stroke. That initial spark of excitement is what we strive to capture in our new season!"
For almost a decade, Maestro Jakub Hrůša has steered this esteemed troupe. In the coming year, esteemed honorary bangers Herbert Blomstedt, Manfred Honeck, and Christoph Eschenbach will muscle their way onto the podium, along with A-list guests like Pablo Heras-Casado, Philippe Jordan, and Susanna Mälkki. Man, a whole bunch of our own players are tearing it up as soloists, but we'll also team up with some international heavyweights, like Julia Fischer and Sol Gabetta, for the BamBash!
From "Fortnight" to the Poetry Slam
We're hitting the road hard this year! In the 2025/26 season, we'll be slapping the strings at Hamburg's Elbphilharmonie, stomping our way back to Vienna and the Musikverein for a smoking residency, and barreling through the beauties of Italy and Spain.
We're pulling no punches with the "Slam Symphony," teaming up with poets to create something magical together. In the project "GAME ON CONCERT," we're blasting music from popular video games straight into your eardrums — "World of Warcraft," "Fortnite," anybody? — and at our "Club Symphony," techno and classical music merge like oil and water. Or something like that.
