Neuralzome, Graas.ai, and Eyestem secure financing

In the bustling tech scene of India, two deeptech startups have recently secured significant funding to advance their innovative solutions.

Eyestem, a Bengaluru-based biotech startup founded in 2023, has raised $10 million in a funding round. The funding round was led by venture-capital firm 8X Ventures, with Jogin Desai, founder and CEO of Eyestem, believing that the funding reflects a shared belief in Eyestem's vision for cell therapy. The funds raised will support the completion of a Phase 2 clinical trial in India and preparations for an IND application with the FDA. Eyestem's retinal cell therapy, Eyecyte-RPE, derived from human induced pluripotent stem cells, has the potential to redefine treatment outcomes for millions suffering from dry AMD.

Meanwhile, Graas.ai, an e-commerce AI startup, has raised over $9 million in a pre-Series B funding round, led by Tin Men Capital. The company plans to use this funding to expand its Agent Foundry platform, a proprietary environment for creating and deploying autonomous AI agents designed to solve operational challenges faced by e-commerce brands, especially in India and Southeast Asia. Graas.ai offers a modular stack of AI agents for e-commerce, including Hoppr, Chattr, Extract, Cartlyst, and Turbo, which can be customized by domain experts to meet specific business needs. The startup follows a robot-as-a-service (RaaS) model to serve labor-intensive industries such as orchard management and commercial landscaping.

Notable participants in the funding rounds include Turbostart, Avinya Ventures, Saka Ventures, Appreciate Capital, Astir Ventures, IIMA Ventures, SIDBI, Heston Castelino, Incred Wealth, Orzon, Integra Partners, Yuj Ventures, Raju Barwale from Mahyco, and Sandeep Singh from Alkem Laboratories.

Neuralzome Cybernetic, another deeptech startup, has raised $2.4 million (around Rs 21 crore) in a pre-seed funding round. Neuralzome builds no-code AI agents for quick deployment of robots without in-house robotics expertise. The company's platform, NeuralPilot, works with the RedPill simulation environment to create photorealistic digital twins, allowing robots to be trained in complex scenarios and reducing field training time and costs.

These developments underscore India's growing prowess in the tech sector, with startups making significant strides in areas as diverse as biotechnology and artificial intelligence.
