Morocco Agrees on Three-Party Pact to Initiate Digital Evolution and Artificial Intelligence Engineering Institution

In a significant move towards advancing technology education in Morocco, the Board of Directors of the Foundation for Research, Development and Innovation in Science and Engineering (FRDISI) convened in the premises of the Higher School of Biomedical Engineering and Health Techniques SUPTECH in Mohammedia on July 4, 2025.

The meeting, which was attended by Minister Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni, Mr. André Azoulay, and Mr. Ezzedine El Madaoui, aimed to validate the activity and financial reports of the past year, and discuss strategic plans for the future.

The focus of the meeting was the Graduate School of Engineering in Digital Transition and Artificial Intelligence, a new educational initiative established through a tripartite agreement signed in July 2025. The school aims to specialize in digital transformation and artificial intelligence, providing advanced training in these fields to prepare students for future technological challenges.

The primary goals of the initiative include aligning academic pathways with national priorities, fostering innovation, and contributing to Morocco's economic growth. The program seeks to bridge the gap between academic offerings and the needs of the economic fabric, and develop targeted training programs that address the specific needs of the region and the country.

The Board of Directors meeting reinforced the initiative's goal to bring training offers closer to real-world situations. The meeting also aimed to approve proposed resolutions, sign new strategic agreements, and present the 2025-2026 perspectives.

FRDISI, as a context for this initiative, is concerned with scientific and engineering research and development, and is not specified as a for-profit or non-governmental organization. The foundation is involved in national economic and technological development, and the Graduate School of Engineering in Digital Transition and Artificial Intelligence is expected to play a significant role in this regard.

The agreement covering the creation of the Graduate School also includes the development of specialized training in these fields, ensuring that graduates are equipped to meet contemporary technological challenges. The initiative is focused on bringing training offers closer to real-world situations, and the Board of Directors meeting served as a step towards achieving this goal.
