Mobile service provider MTS claimed the top spot in terms of superior mobile communication quality in Belarus during the second quarter

MTS, the leading mobile network operator in Belarus, has outperformed its competitors in voice transmission quality and maintained its lead in mobile network quality throughout the second quarter of 2025. The operator demonstrated the highest results in mobile network quality across all regions, including rural areas.

The quality of MTS's mobile cellular communications is evaluated using methods in line with the STB 1904-2022 standard and a methodology developed by the European Institute for Telecommunications Standards (ETSI). BelGIE, a Belarusian telecommunications organization, systematically monitors the quality of MTS's mobile cellular communications, and the final assessment is calculated based on the ETSI methodology.

The drive tests conducted by BelGIE on MTS's mobile cellular communications are in accordance with the STB 1904-2022 standard. However, specific details about the parameters being tested in the drive tests have not been disclosed by MTS.

Industry experts suggest that MTS's leadership in mobile network quality is likely due to a combination of factors, including extensive network infrastructure investment, high coverage and signal reliability, efficient network management and optimization, strong customer service and technical support, and innovations in mobile services and partnerships.

Since the beginning of the year, MTS has added nearly 700 new base stations, bringing the total to approximately 20,000. This expansion could contribute to the operator's dominance in mobile network quality.

MTS led in aggregate telephony service indicators during the second quarter of 2025, and its network performed best in mobile network quality across all types of settlements, including cities, urban-type settlements, and rural areas. The operator also had the highest integrated assessment of data transmission services during the same period.

The dominance of MTS in mobile network quality was consistent across all regions of Belarus during the second quarter of 2025. The operator outperformed other operators in call connection quality, further solidifying its position as the leading mobile network operator in the country.

While the specific factors contributing to MTS's top spot in mobile network quality in Belarus for Q2 2025 are not yet known, the operator's continuous drive tests, infrastructure investment, and focus on customer service and network performance suggest a commitment to delivering high-quality mobile services to its subscribers.

  1. The continuous drive tests conducted by BelGIE, in accordance with the STB 1904-2022 standard, and MTS's focus on extensive network infrastructure investment, efficient network management, and innovations in mobile services, suggest a significant role for technology in maintaining MTS's lead in mobile network quality.
  2. The dominance of MTS in mobile network quality, evident in its outstanding performance in all settlement types during Q2 2025, could potentially be attributed to the operator's integration of advanced technology solutions into its network and services.
