Updated Article:

Crank up your tactical action with Call of Duty Mobile's latest test server feature, Auto Lean! This badass mechanic lets your operator effortlessly peek around cover, eliminating the need for manual input. But will it make the final cut? Check it out before the big update arrives!

Didja Know?

  • Auto Lean initially surfaced on the Season 5 test server.
  • The mechanic springs into action as your operator approaches corners or cover.
  • Activision is yet to reveal a live release date for the feature.

Call of Duty vets may recall that leaning was a beloved feature from earlier titles, debuting in the 2003 PC original and later popping up in games like Ghosts (2013) and Modern Warfare (2019). However, COD Mobile has steered clear until now.

Previously, fans voiced concerns about screen clutter due to manual leaning. The current auto version seems to improve readability by skipping additional HUD components.

Lookin' Slick or Winning Trick?

Auto Lean takes effect when an operator slows down near cover, with the character leaning slightly so you can target around obstacles without showing your whole self. Sounds useful, but some die-hard gamers reckon the feature centers more on flashy animations than practically beneficial gameplay.

The Battlefield Edge

Leaning in CoD has been a tactical playground for certain tricks like "headglitching," where only a sliver of a player appears while they shoot, thanks to a mix of unintended design and player creativity. Auto Lean could amplify these tricks, especially in Search and Destroy, where positioning and movement are paramount.

Warzone Mobile could be shedding popularity, while Timi Studios and Activision seem to be refocusing their efforts on COD Mobile. Features like Auto Lean, initially tied to Warzone Mobile, are now being adapted for the main title.

In the Trial phase

Despite being active on the test server, the feature's inclusion in the official Season 5 update is still unconfirmed. Activision has not announced whether it will launch yet or disclosed a timeline. As always, patch notes will be our definitive guide.

Technology and gadgets are at the heart of Auto Lean, a new feature in Call of Duty Mobile that lets operators automatically lean around cover during gameplay. This mechanic, which was initially tested on the Season 5 test server, could potentially reduce screen clutter by eliminating the need for manual input, as was a concern among fans in the past.
