Methods to Reduce Heat and Preserve Battery Life in an Overheating Device
In today's digital age, our phones have become an essential part of our lives. However, they can sometimes overheat and drain the battery quickly, causing inconvenience. Here's a guide to help you keep your phone cool and maintain its battery health.
A phone commonly gets hot and loses battery quickly due to high-intensity use, such as gaming or video editing, high screen brightness and high refresh rate displays, background apps running, 5G usage in weak signal areas, location services, charging while using the phone, and sometimes malware or defective/aging batteries.
To cool down your phone, you can avoid heavy tasks such as gaming or video editing, especially while charging. Lower screen brightness and disable high refresh rates when not needed. Close or restrict background apps that continuously run and consume power. Turn off location services when not needed. Use your phone in a cooler environment to avoid high ambient temperature effects. Remove phone cases that trap heat during heavy use or charging. Let the phone rest and power off briefly if overheating persists. If overheating or battery drain continues, check battery health and consider replacing it if degraded or defective.
If your phone feels especially hot, turning on Airplane Mode can help protect your processor and allow your phone to cool down. If a phone gets hot while charging, it may indicate a faulty battery or charger. Try using a different charging cable and charging brick. A phone may overheat while downloading or installing a software update, especially if it has to address a bug in the process.
Never charge a phone while in direct sunlight or intense heat, as it can cause the battery to overheat and potentially be damaged. Running too many apps at once can cause rapid battery depletion and a phone that's hot to the touch. Streaming videos or playing games for several hours can put a lot of pressure on the GPU, making the phone hot and draining the battery faster.

Remember, maintaining your phone's health is essential for its longevity. By following these simple tips, you can ensure your phone stays cool and battery life is extended.
