Media duties of Hulu in the US shifted to Publicis Imagine

Media duties of Hulu in the US shifted to Publicis Imagine

In a significant shift, Disney has awarded media buying and planning responsibilities for Hulu in the U.S. to Publicis' dedicated division, Publicis Imagine, effective from March 2021. This transition was confirmed by a Hulu spokesperson.

The Publicis Imagine unit, created by the holding company in 2019 during Disney's global media review, is a Disney-dedicated division of Publicis. The unit is led by media agency Zenith.

Sources familiar with the matter told Adweek about the transition, which will see Hulu continue to work with IPG Mediabrands' UM in the interim. The change does not involve a review process.

The media duties were awarded to Publicis Imagine without a review, and the change will take effect in March 2021. The Publicis Imagine unit will replace IPG Mediabrands' UM as the media agency for Hulu in the interim.

The Publicis Imagine unit will be responsible for media buying and planning for Hulu in the U.S., tasks that typically involve the development of strategies for advertisement campaigns, target audience identification, and selection of suitable senders/platforms.
