Betsson AB Announces Changes in Group Management Team
Management Changes at Betsson: Svensson and Saliba Take Lead, Jabin and Glasfors Step Down
Betsson AB, a leading player in the online gaming industry and a Nasdaq Stockholm Large Cap-listed company, has announced significant changes to its group management team. The changes come as the company aims to grow faster than the market, both organically and through acquisitions.
Jesper Svensson, who has been with Betsson since 1998 and has held pivotal roles including chief commercial officer in 2015 and chief executive officer in 2017, has been appointed as the operational chief executive officer. Svensson's long tenure and extensive experience within the group make him a valuable asset in driving Betsson's growth strategy.
Karl Saliba, who has 17 years of tenure at Betsson, has been appointed to the group management team. Saliba started at Betsson as a financial controller in 2008 and advanced to chief financial officer of operations in 2012. His appointment as a member of the management team underscores his significant contributions to the company.
Two new roles, operational chief financial officer and operational chief legal officer, have been created in the management team. Kristian Saliba has been appointed as the operational chief financial officer, while Triin Toomemets-Krasnitski has been appointed as the chief legal officer of Betsson AB. Toomemets-Krasnitski has been with Betsson since 2013 and has held positions such as senior legal counsel, head of legal, and vice president of legal.
Pontus Lindwall, who first took on the CEO position in 1998 and has played a significant role in Betsson's growth, continues in his role as president/CEO. Martin Öhman, who has been with Betsson since 2019 and oversees financial operations and contributes to the company's strategic growth, continues in his role as CFO.
Amandus Jabin and Roland Glasfors have exited the group management team but will continue to contribute to Betsson in their current roles. Jabin, the vice president of global tax, has been with the company since 2012, while Glasfors joined as vice president of communications and investor relations in 2022.
Betsson has made strides in expanding its presence in Europe. In June 2023, the company entered Belgium via a €120 million ($130.6 million) betFIRST acquisition, and in September 2023, Betsson was granted a license in France.
These changes in the group management team come as Betsson continues to focus on its growth strategy, aiming to solidify its position as a leading player in the online gaming industry.
