The tech world is abuzz with excitement as Apple prepares to launch its next-generation MacBook Pro models. According to reports, these new devices are set to enter mass production next year, marking a significant step forward for the company's laptop lineup.

One of the most anticipated features of the upcoming MacBook Pro models is the inclusion of OLED displays. Samsung, a leading supplier of OLED panels, is rumoured to be the main provider for these screens. This switch to OLED technology is expected to bring vibrant colours, deeper blacks, and improved power efficiency to the MacBook Pro.

Another intriguing feature is the potential addition of touchscreen support. Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes that this decision comes from years of studying how people use iPads. However, it's less clear which Apple chips will power the first touchscreen MacBooks. While the more expensive models may use Apple Silicon processors such as those in the M4 family, a cheaper MacBook model slated for mass production in the fourth quarter of 2025 is expected to use iPhone processors. Unfortunately, this more affordable model will not support a touch panel.

The timing of these MacBook Pro updates raises the possibility of two major updates in the same year. Apple has employed a similar strategy before, releasing M2 Pro and M2 Max models in January 2023, followed by M3 models in October.

The upcoming MacBook Pro models are also expected to be thinner, with the notch on the screen being smaller. An interesting twist is the use of advanced "on-cell touch" technology. Unlike traditional touchscreens with a separate touch layer, on-cell touch technology integrates touch sensors directly into the display. This innovation is said to be featured in the new MacBook Pro.

However, there is some speculation about the launch date of the touchscreen MacBook. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman has reported that Apple might delay the launch of the touchscreen MacBook until early 2026.

Meanwhile, OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT, is making strides in other areas. They are planning to build an age-prediction system and to restrict flirtation and suicide talk for teen users on their platform. Unfortunately, there is no information about the launch of AI-native devices from Apple in 2026 in the given text.

Stay tuned for more updates as Apple continues to push the boundaries of technology with its upcoming MacBook Pro models.
