In a remote-first culture, Roofr - a US and Canadian-based company - is on the hunt for a seasoned Senior DevOps Engineer. This role is centered around ensuring the availability, latency, performance, reliability, and scalability of all services.
As a key player, you'll partner with various engineering teams, providing technical leadership and owning the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) function with an automation-first mindset. Your responsibilities will include managing infrastructure and services primarily on AWS, leading SRE teams with a focus on automation and continuous improvement, and supporting distributed, fault-tolerant systems.
To excel in this role, you'll need hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform, container orchestration frameworks such as Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, ArgoCD). Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills are essential.
Qualifications for this role include 5+ years in software engineering and DevOps/SRE domains, proficiency in public cloud environments, especially AWS, experience in one or more programming languages, expertise in network protocols, Agile and Scrum methodology knowledge, and preferably, AWS certification, Linux expertise, large-scale distributed systems experience, container orchestration skills, microservices architecture familiarity, and a relevant computer science or engineering degree.
