Italy-UAE Trade Surges in 2025, Driven by Tech and Sustainability
Italy and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have witnessed remarkable growth in their economic partnership in 2025. Sustainability and advanced auto parts remain at the core of their collaboration, with Italian exports projected to surpass €9 billion by the end of the year.
In the first half of 2025 alone, Italian exports to the UAE surged by 19%, reaching €4.5 billion. This growth is largely driven by industrial technology, which has seen an increase of over 23% this year. Non-oil trade between the two nations has also flourished, reaching around €6 billion in the same period.
The UAE serves as a strategic gateway for Italian companies, providing access to the Gulf, wider Middle East, and Asia. More than 600 Italian companies currently operate in the UAE, with this number steadily rising. While no specific Italian companies were mentioned at WETEX 2025 in Dubai, Italy's focus on advanced auto, robotics, radar, and artificial intelligence was evident, indicating a strong Italian technological presence.
The robust partnership between Italy and the UAE continues to thrive, with sustainability and advanced auto at its heart. As Italian exports to the UAE exceed €9 billion by the end of 2025, both nations stand to benefit from this flourishing economic relationship.
