Besides the S05, Deepal plans to introduce more models, including the Deepal L06 with advanced technology like a 3nm cockpit chip and integrated LiDAR. Deepal’s strategy reflects Changan's strong push into the EV market with innovative technologies and a diversified lineup.
The Deepal S05 has already made its debut in markets like the UAE, offering two variants: a pure battery electric version with a 460 km range and a range-extended electric vehicle variant boasting more than 900 km total range with a 1.5L range-extending generator. Pricing in the UAE starts competitively at AED 89,900.
The S05 adopts an "Interstellar Wing" design language, featuring a closed front grille, protruding dual waistlines, hidden door handles, low wind resistance wheels, and a through-type taillight. It is available in five colours and offers three interior colour schemes.
Changan Automobile, the manufacturer of the Deepal S05, is a new state-owned enterprise, previously known as the Ordnance Equipment Group.
