Introducing 9 groundbreaking updates introduced within the Windows 11 Insider Program from mid-July 2025

Windows 11 users have experienced a host of new features and improvements during the second half of July 2025, as Microsoft continues to refine the operating system with community feedback.

Accessibility and AI Integration

Enhancements have been made to the Click to Do accessibility feature, along with updates planned for Windows Narrator. These changes aim to improve usability, particularly for users relying on assistive technologies.

A new feature on Windows 11 allows Windows Narrator to read the contextual description of an image, which can contain people, objects, colors, text, and numbers. This update is available for Copilot+ PCs using Intel and AMD processors.

Lock Screen Widgets

The "Discover widgets" option has been added to Lock Screen settings, starting with build 26200.5710 (Dev) and 26120.4741 (Beta). This feature periodically updates the Lock Screen with suggested widgets, providing quick access to information without unlocking the device.

Privacy Settings for AI Features

Microsoft has added new privacy controls specific to AI-powered functionalities, giving users more transparency and control over how AI features access and use personal data.

AI Agent Embedded in the Settings App

An AI agent has been integrated directly into the Settings app, facilitating easier navigation, personalized suggestions, and smarter configuration. This feature is currently available for Copilot+ PCs featuring AMD and Intel processors, starting with build 26200.5722 (Dev) and 26120.5722 (Beta).

Second Chance Out-of-Box Experience (OOBE) Enhancements

Changes to the OOBE aim to improve user experience when setting up or reconfiguring devices, offering more flexible recovery and setup options.

Windows Search with Image Grid Results

The Windows Search experience has been updated to display image search results in a grid format, improving visual browsing and quick selection of images.

Notification Center Improvements

Adjustment and refinements in Notification Center have been made, enhancing how notifications are grouped, displayed, and managed for better user clarity and control. On Windows 11 build 26200.5722 and 26120.5722, the Notification Center interface is improved so that you can access the fly out from secondary monitors, which also includes the full clock with seconds.

Task Manager Updates with New Processor Usage Mechanism

Task Manager received a significant update to its processor usage mechanism. This update optimizes how CPU usage data is gathered and presented, likely improving accuracy and responsiveness. The new view in the Task Manager will show the standard metrics used by industry standards and third-party tools. If you want to view the legacy metrics, you can do so by selecting the "CPU utility" option on the "Details" page.

These changes came through multiple Insider Preview builds across different channels (Canary, Dev, Beta), reflecting Microsoft's ongoing efforts to refine Windows 11 with community feedback before public release.

Additional minor fixes and general system improvements were also part of these July 2025 releases. However, the above represent the most noteworthy feature additions and updates during this period.

The ISO file for build 27902 is now available for download. The builds were part of the version 24H2, 25H2, and some others that were not part of any specific branch.
