"Initial Note Transforms into Stunning Soundscape with New Sequencer": Native Instruments introduces a polyphonic sequencer capable of metamorphosing one note into a captivating melodic landscape.
TL;DR: Native Instruments has unveiled a fresh Kontakt instrument named Circular. This multitimbral, polyphonic wonder is tailored to crank out layered, mutating soundscapes from the tiniest chord sequences!
Take a ride on the Play page, where up to four melodic layers can be shuffled and tweaked with an ambrosial smorgasbord of 160+ samples at your fingertips – think keys, guitars, horns, vocals, and synths galore.
Head on over to the Sequencer page, and you'll find a more familiar, yet tantalizing setup. Each layer gets its very own sequencer, brimming with adjustable pattern and step durations. Dive deeper, and you'll unearth polyrhythmic, probability-based, and Euclidean sequences waiting to churn out mind-bending, unpredictable patterns.
Feeling like a sound sorcerer? The Sequencer page also bestows you with per-step command over nearly every synth parameter, granting full control over sample selection, pitch, filter, amp, envelopes, and effects per step of your shimmering sequence.
Hungry for modulation and audio effects? Circular offers an array of mouth-watering options, from EQ, reverb, delay, distortion, chorus, bitcrushing, amp simulation, and granular processing. Stack up to four effects on each layer and four global effects, along with two reverb sends. And to top it all off? Expressive, polyphonic aftertouch is at your fingertips, as well as two LFOs for dynamic effect manipulation.
Though we haven't been able to unpack this marvel completely, the snippet we tuned into at Superbooth last week blew our minds, flaunting rich, detailed, and evolving patches seamlessly blending earthy and electronic textures. And the cherry on top? You can embed your own samples into Circular, opening the door to endless sonic adventures with the help of your beloved instrument's sophisticated sequencer.
Circular is available now for just $199 ($€199, £179), but you'll need Kontakt (version 8.2.1 or above) or the free Kontakt Player to unlock its magic.
