Infineon Launches XENSIV PAS CO2 5V Sensor for Energy-Efficient Buildings

Infineon Technologies AG has launched the XENSIV PAS CO2 5V sensor, a new tool to enhance energy efficiency in buildings. This compact device, measuring just 14×13.8×7.5 mm³, offers real-time air quality data and improves upon its predecessor in terms of response time and power consumption.

The XENSIV PAS CO2 5V sensor uses Photoacoustic Spectroscopy (PAS) technology to adapt ventilation to occupancy levels, thereby reducing buildings' carbon footprint. This innovation is crucial, as improving energy efficiency in buildings can significantly decrease global energy consumption and carbon emissions.

The new sensor offers a faster response time of 55 seconds, compared to the 90 seconds of the previous 12V version. This enhanced efficiency is particularly beneficial in dynamic environments. Additionally, the 5V version is dust-proof, extending device lifetime in dusty environments and meeting the performance criteria of the WELL Green Building Standard.

Designed for easy assembly in high-speed, high-volume manufacturing, the XENSIV PAS CO2 5V sensor boasts versatile plug-and-play features. These include automatic baseline offset calibration and pressure compensation, making it a versatile choice for various applications.
