Bengaluru, India, is bracing for light to moderate rainfall as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert in certain regions of Karnataka. Meanwhile, in the digital sphere, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) is celebrating a significant milestone.

In July 2025, the UIDAI handled a staggering 221 crore Aadhaar authentication transactions, marking a 3.8% increase from July 2024. This surge in transactions reflects India's growing comfort with AI-powered, contactless verification.

The rapid adoption of Aadhaar face authentication is thanks to the extensive partnerships UIDAI has formed with governments, banks, telecom companies, and various service providers. More than 150 entities, including government ministries and departments, banks and NBFCs, oil companies, telecom providers, and more, are currently leveraging this secure and instant identity verification system.

Key service providers using Aadhaar face authentication in India include central and state government departments, major banks, telecom operators, oil marketing companies, and additional private sector service providers collaborating with UIDAI.

The growth of Aadhaar face authentication transactions is evident in the exponential growth experienced as of August 2025, crossing 200 crore transactions. Sectors such as welfare schemes, banking, telecom, digital governance, and oil marketing have all benefited from this contactless, paperless identity verification method.
