May saw a whopping 31% increase in smartwatch demand for kids compared to April, while April's growth was even more explosive at a staggering 60% over March, according to Beeline data. Sales of such devices from January to May 2022hiked 17% in monetary terms and 2% in physical terms compared to the previous year, with the average price kicking up 3.6% to hover around 5,240 rubles.

To cater to this growing market, Beeline introduced the brands Fontel and Leef in May, offering devices in the "entry-level" segment. Leading brands ELARI, Leef, and Geozon continued to dominate sales.

"The kids' devices market keeps growing, with cool new features like UV sensors, blood oxygen level monitoring, voice assistants, and 'listening' functions cropping up," says Kirill Ivashov, Director of Commerce for Beeline's retail business. "That said,Location tracking, geozone settings, SOS buttons, audio monitoring, and protection from unknown numbers remain the most wanted features. The booming sales in this sector are only the beginning—we're excited to further expand our lineup as per customer expectations!"

On the flip side, kids' tablet demand crashed 40% in monetary terms, possibly due to a broader tablet market decline and skyrocketing average prices (up an alarming 64% year-over-year).
