In-depth Evaluation of Acer Vero B247Y 24-inch FHD IPS 120Hz Gaming Monitor: A Chromatic, Affordable Choice for Gamers

Ghosting no more, mate! I've given that B247Y a whirl and let me tell ya, this baby ain't a slouch. No need for adjustments out of the box, it's already got its colors poppin' and its grayscale on point.

Grayscale and Gamma? Well, it might run a tad cool, but apart from 90 and 100% brightness touchin' the 3dE mark, you ain't gonna see no problems in most content. Impressive performance for a mere $155 monitor, I say. Gamma anomalies? I spotted 'em at 10 and 90% brightness, with light values bein' a tad light. But a quick calibration of the two-point white balance brings those numbers down and delivers near-perfect results. Gamma is a tad darker overall, but it's a visual plus if you ask me.

Now, let's compare this with others, shall we? The B247Y comes in second in the out-of-box comparison, with a score of 2.06dE. Better than many monitors that cost more. Only the GS27FA performs better. After calibration, the Acer falls to third place, but the highest error is a mere 1.29dE - a very tight group, I tell ya.

Gamma values? They cover a wider range than the others, with a 0.25 difference from lightest to darkest. But the average stays very close to the 2.2 reference, tying it for first place in the average gamma test. This is excellent performance.

Color Gamut? The B247Y is an sRGB monitor with a little bonus color in all parts of the gamut triangle. Maintains good balance since no color is more oversaturated than any other. The only error here is magenta, which is a tad bluer than it should be. Calibration fixes that issue and puts all the secondaries on their hue targets. The slight oversaturation remains, but who's complainin'? It ain't gonna cause any loss of detail or overblown hues.

Even without claimin' to cover DCI-P3, it comes in a respectable third place, with 116.41% sRGB volume. Less than 8% behind the leaders, which equals a barely visible difference. I wouldn't recommend the B247Y for color-critical applications, but it's more than suited for other work and any kinda play.

So there you have it, mate. The B247Y delivers high accuracy for the money and ain't needin' no adjustment for a solid, colorful image. It might not be the best choice for Photoshop, but it's more than capable of gettin' through other work tasks and deliverin' a nice picture for gaming and entertainment.

Thinkin' of spendin' yer cash on a new monitor? Might wanna give the B247Y a look. Can't go wrong with this one.
