Battlefield 6 open beta has concluded, but don't feel dismayed; Battlefield 2042 has unveiled Update 9.2, offering rewards for players who engage with it - and they're reminiscent of Battlefield 6.

If you're disheartened that the Battlefield 6 Open Beta has ended, fear not! Battlefield 2042 received an unexpected Update 9.2, and it offers rewards for those who participate in it that were originally tied to Battlefield 6.

After a successful Battlefield 6 Open Beta that concluded on August 17, 2025, developers DICE and publisher EA are gearing up for the full release of the highly anticipated game on October 10, 2025. The game will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC platforms.

Following the beta, DICE and EA released Battlefield 2042 Update 9.2, nicknamed "Road to Battlefield 6". This update includes a reimagined version of the iconic Iwo Jima map from previous Battlefield games, new weapons, vehicles, and a free 60-tier Battle Pass available from August 18 to October 7, 2025.

The free Battle Pass offers exclusive Battlefield 6 rewards that can be earned in Battlefield 2042 before Battlefield 6 launches. These rewards include 50 new cosmetics inspired by various Battlefield titles and 30 exclusive Battlefield 6-themed rewards distributed across six tiers of the free Battle Pass.

The new Iwo Jima map features an active volcano that may influence the flow of a match, adding a unique and exciting element to gameplay. Another addition is the KFS2000 bullpup assault rifle, which is highly accurate and easier to control.

In addition, two new jet planes, the A-10 Warthog and the SU-25-TM Frogfoot, have been added to Battlefield 2042. These planes are best suited for taking out ground vehicles. A new Lynx sniper rifle has also been made available, exclusively for players who participated in the Battlefield 6 Open Beta.

DICE has promised to address feedback and make changes ahead of Battlefield 6's release, addressing concerns about the size of the maps and the speed of the game. Despite some criticism, Battlefield 6 is expected to be one of 2025's biggest and best games, with potential to outshine Call of Duty this year.

If you want to prepare ahead of Battlefield 6's October release, playing Battlefield 2042 during this free Battle Pass period offers a valuable opportunity to earn related content. The standard edition of Battlefield 6 costs $69.99, and it is available for preorder on Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC (Steam, EA app, Epic Games), and PS5.

EA has committed to avoiding an $80 price point for Battlefield 6, making it more accessible to a wider audience. The Open Beta attracted hundreds of thousands of players across Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC, and PS5 platforms, surpassing Call of Duty's record on Steam.

Battlefield 6 looks to be a return to form for the franchise that fans have been waiting years for, with the reintroduction of classic classes, new class-specific gadgets, advanced environmental destruction mechanics, and more. Get ready for a thrilling experience when Battlefield 6 launches on October 10, 2025!
